I thought this was too funny not to share...
I watched a video where a guy was standing next to a cnc mill without
ear protection and I commented that there's a lot of HF content and
he'll blow his ears out and to use ear plugs and stay safe etc. Then
someone replied with this absolute nugget. Make sure to read until the
end...
> The pitch even through my scrappy tablet speaker is killing my ears. I had to watch and not listen. But I too am an audio engineer and I'm working with frequencies and electrical generation. I was testing some super high pitch frequencies and thought my device wasn't working (had it set wrong, high when it was supposed to be low) so I put my ear up to the speaker and held it there for a good bit. Even though 8 didn't physically hear any tone, when I pulled my ear away, my ear drum was pulsing and it made me feel weird AF and like my ear was wet. Don't know if that makes sense but yeah it was crazy. After about 30 min my hearing went back to normal. What's crazy is I could tell it was a saw wave as the pulses matched my output frequency. Also I'm looking for sound engineers to help me with some binaural beats. They are not for human consumption but for machines. If you read this and are curious hit this comment up.
