Bearing in mind the rate of change in the electronics industry, it's 
worth acknowledging that this has been the case for 30 YEARS or more! I 
was working on broadcast mixers back in the early '90s and the opamp 
lineup was exactly the same. Those devices just tick most if not all the 
boxes for a wide range of audio applications, and the multiple sources 
and ubiquity they have built up helps prolong the situation.

Yes, there are modern alternatives but the improvements are usually 
marginal and often offset by cost or single-sourcing. The NE5532 shows 
its age a bit with its power consumption and tendency to go unstable 
without some decoupling caps nearby to keep it company and I admit I 
tend to use the MC33178 in that position now, but the TL07x is still a 
go-to device.
