If it takes 10 minutes to irritate, then either there's something wrong 
with the extractor (a hole in the hose somewhere? Broken gasket of the 
filter box?) or you are alergic to something in the smoke - that would 
be extremely bad luck considering your work and hobby involves 
soldering, I'm sorry to hear that.
I can solder for hours (with extractor obviously) and can't tell a 
difference from a day when I do not solder at all. Well, I lived all my 
childhod in industry poluted area, including lead smelter near by, so 
maybe I'm immune.
