How does one calculate the frequency content of transients?
I've recently seen a prominent audio outboard company say that they
switched to 125 kHz switch mode power supplies and they could hear the
60 or 50 hz from their linear psus everywhere before the switch and
now the power supplies don't leak at all into the audio.

However, if you multiply a transient by a program then you're getting
sum and difference frequencies. So if you have noise above the audible
band, you would be pulling it into the audio band, if the conditions
are met.

So how do you find out the frequency content of a transient such as an
exponential rise or decay?

Thanks
