[sdiy] Straw poll: trading list

I'm not trolling. I'm just saying two things:

1) I don't want a trading-for sale mailing list. If you want to make one,
that's fine, but I won't be on it, because it doesn't interest me, and I
already get too many emails that go straight to Deleted Items.

2) I am not shy about saying that I've got something to sell, but when/if I
do, it is always in the spirit of DIY -- in this case, it's something I made
that I have no use for and it is collecting dust and needs to be installed
in a panel. Also, you will note that I didn't create a new thread for it,
but just dropped it casually into an existing thread -- that's how I roll.

And, just to be clear, I don't care what you think about it, so keep your
flames to yourselves.

Lol, I thought the same thing chromatest. And he replied on list when Ben
asked to reply off list. Maybe he's trolling. Lol

Interesting. In the same post you say that any such selling needs to be
relegated to AH/MW, and then your next statement is to offer something for
sale.

Ironic?

Let's close the other thread about trading modules. I want to get a feeling
for the need for a new sister list for trading/buying/selling modules. We
currently have around 1100 members on this list. To be viable a new list
would need a reasonable number of subscribers. 20..50 to start with I think.
Therefor a quick straw poll:

[ ] A separate list "trading", for trading of diy modules only.
[ ] A separate list "marketplace", for trading, buying and selling of diy
modules and parts.
[ ] Both of the above.
[X] No new list, take this business to AH / Muff / etc.
[ ] other: _______

[ ] I would subscribe to this new list
[X] I would not subscribe to this new list

Any other remarks:

***** Occasionally I have one or two things to sell, and I'm never shy about
mentioning it here. I currently have a handmade Analog Shift Register board
that I made for someone who ultimately didn't buy it. If anyone wants it,
I'll let it go for $50 US. Email me privately. If it isn't bought, then
I'll probably just make a module out of it and it will sit collecting dust.

If a new list is created, members of the existing synth-diy list will
definitely NOT be automatically subscribed. So nobody will be bothered by
it, unless they subscribe.

Please reply to me OFF-LIST, thanks.
Ben
