Well since the JX8P is pretty much 100% analogue apart from the bit that reads the buttons, I don't really see what the issue is.
There's literally no difference in troubleshooting analogue or digital gear. You look at what voltages are coming out and if they're wrong you go back a stage and see where they start to go wrong.
Out of interest, what are its symptoms, apart from the aftertouch not working and the dirty key contacts sometimes making notes hang?
