let's not go there.
it's a pun alluding to germanium i would have guessed, which is not un-clever.
i can't see anything xenophobic about that and there's really no need to politicise it.
there's lots of good and bad things to say about China and manufacturing practices, but i don't think this is the place for that discussion either.

also, a lot of bad caps actually come from Taiwan, so i have learned. there you go.
