[sdiy] Administrivia: Max image / message size

Thanks everybody for your opinions and ideas, both public and in private.

The 1 MB limit has been here for a while. It was increased from a much lower limit to give members the option to add some relevant graphics or photo’s inline without the need to click to an external site.

I don’t think the archive is growing too much because of the attachments. This is the total size of the attachments in the last few years:

2017: 17 MB
2018: 11 MB
2019: 8 MB
2020: 25 MB

For the server it is no problem. But I don’t want to burden anybody with large emails if they are on cost-sensitive of bandwidth-limited (mobile) connections. So I’ll leave it at 1 MB for now.
