Thank you. I signed up a week or two ago, and have been enjoying the
discussions. I guess I should have posted an introduction or something.
I haven't read any of the archive, so I don't know what is generally
discussed here or how the community works yet.

I thought my (hopefully accurate) comment might illuminate this topic. I
think that people who don't have a signal processing background might
find the "mirroring" mysterious, but it makes perfect sense if you draw
the whole spectrum, including negative frequencies. I'm not sure if I'm
explaining it well.
