[sdiy] MemoryMoog octave buffer board

Hi all,

I have seen pictures of MemMoog boards, where the Common Analog board
has a little board on top, apparently an octave buffer.

I can't find anything about that in the service documents.

What is it with this buffer?
Does anybody know if it was described in one of the service bulletins?
Has this been factory fitted later in the production run (IIRC, mine is
a rather early one)?
