I for one would be happy if not each and every equation in that book had to be accompanied by a lengthy description which variable is measured in which unit. No need to do that if SI units are consequently used. Random example from that book:
„E is Young’s modulus of elalasicity, in pounds-force per square inch, or psi, or mica/(in*s^2); μ is Poisson ratio, dimensionless; and h is the height of the plate, in inches […] ⍴ is the mass density of a given plate material, in mica/in^3 [and so on…]
Also, I find it difficult to read numbers where many identical digits are in a row. 1000000 and 10000000 are hard to discern by me. That book is full of numbers like 0.00000009357 mica/in^3.
