[sdiy] re-publishing typewritten material

I transitioned from prospecting to metal detecting. Finding more gold at
the beach than I did in rivers and deserts, and its 20 minutes away.
I haven't really gotten into the photomicrography other than amassing a
collection of equipment to do it. A guy on Kickstarter will becoming out
with a great book to help me start out. I hope I still get to it when I
retire at least. I just bought two Nikon D700's that I replaced the bad card
readers on and hope to use them if we ever get to traveling again. They
have a cult following for the colors the sensor gives. I've been buying
broken lenses off ebay and repairing them, but it gets pretty frustrating
sometimes - not a future career for me. I fix way too many different
things. I don't see how others survive not being able to fix things. Door
handle on my Suburban broke last night, jeez.
I flew hang gliders before I wrote the book and then took flying lessons
afterwards. I soloed but those who love flying have it dominate their lives
and it was just one thing I was interested in and I wasn't going to keep
current. I had a series of things happen during that time - getting into
IFR conditions, nose wheel shimmy on takeoff, almost flying into the Sierras
with friends, near midairs... that I just gave it up. Had some great times
with friends that had a P-51.

Prospecting? Photomicrography? Pilot’s license... amazing!
