Not the issue. Amazon demanded page numbering in a scheme that was
unacceptable for my project. Hiring somebody else to put the wrong page
numbers in would not cause them to be the right page numbers.
In more detail: I was reprinting an academic work. It was important for
the page numbers to remain the same as in the first printing so that
references wouldn't break. But the first printing used the traditional
page numbering scheme with Roman numerals i, ii, iii for the front matter
and then Arabic numerals starting again at 1 for the main matter.
Amazon's rules specifically forbade that.
