A creative work in progress by multiple people is a far different animal
than the process of transcribing a work that is complete, from a
composition standpoint.
I mildly disagree that Linux style collaboration can't work for this -- it
can, if there is a sufficiently rigorous process and someone at the "top"
to enforce it. Linux has Linus Torvalds.
That said, it is pretty tiresome for me to see people badgering Bernie when
he has laid out his constraints pretty darn clearly, I can't imagine how
tiresome it is for me.
