Thanks all for your comments. Especially for taking time to calculate out
the specifics. To answer some of your questions:

The 2 amp supply uses a different regulator, one rated at 2 amps. The
schematic is from my original 1 amp design.

I have some 4700 uF caps and I will use those on the next builds and I will
hook up a scope to it to see what is happening. I have the equipment, but I
am in no way schooled about this. Obviously, I need to learn that my scope
is for more than just looking at audio signals.

Tom Bugs - I have no way to load it for test purposes. That is something I
should look into.

Thanks for mentioning the diodes Steve. I had overlooked that detail and
will correct it.
