I would say that if you're going to put effort into learning how to draw PCBs, you'd be better investing it in learning to use a PCB CAD package like Kicad.
That way you can still plot stuff to etch at home, and also you can sling it around in industry-standard formats if you want to get more complex boards made up by someone.
