[sdiy] chassis-mount screw terminal or alternative

I use Neutrik XLR 4-pole connectors. These are used for powering video equipment for years now anyway. However, this does not solve the OPs problem with the cables. The 4-pole XLR cables I found online were of low quality, cheap crap. So I still have to make my own cables.

They aren’t cheap, but I use 5-pin XLR for my PSU-to-rack wiring. I like having the locking tab so it can’t get pulled out accidentally

Hi

For some of my live gear I use DIN connectors with a threaded fixing.

Those are Lumberg SV series. The connection stand even Bavarian taxi drivers on cobbelstone roads. ;-)

I'd be also interested in a lockable IEC C14 connection. Has anyone experience with those: https://www.mouser.de/new/schaffner/schaffnerIEC-lockcords/<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.mouser.de_new_schaffner_schaffnerIEC-2Dlockcords_&d=DwMFaQ&c=P3aKjizb3qsxp0SERaL2sw&r=Wo0ERRj3NwEx1MVmRi7Tj3kJss6CkyI0BMe1OujCfok&m=etW8mmSXSFTE6gbBoZhPf7R_v4m8PJO1Mn-yvR2AHzg&s=uDaHGovw0T29fJ4V4Wrek0aS8cVs65BI5gh6JjVCZ9Y&e=>

PS: I understand Michaels objection against open contacts having the load, but in the case of the Lumbergs there is a very little chance that a short will happen.

Does anyone have a favorite chassis-mount connector? This would be to route power from a rack PSU to several 84hp synth cases.
I was thinking maybe I'd like to try a screw terminal type.
In the past I've used gx12/3pin "aviation" connectors, but it would be nice to not have to build those cables anymore.
Or is getting behind the rack stand with a screwdriver an even worse alternative?
