[sdiy] XLR to 1/4 inch

I'm hoping somebody can enlighten me if it's practical to take the XLR
outputs from a passive DI box (transformer based) and use an XLR to 1/4
inch cable to drive my -10 dBV mixer inputs.
I'm looking at an ART 2 channel passive DI box
(https://artproaudio.com/product/dualzdirect-dual-professional-passive-direct-box/).
The problems I'm trying to solve are:
1. My MOTM has such hot signals that they need attenuation
2. A ground loop problem between my MOTM and mixer
For this DI box to work, I'd need to buy or make a cable with XLR on one
end and 1/4 inch TS on the other. The DI box has a ground lift which I'm
nearly certain I would use. I would probably use one or both of the DI
box input attenuators.
Is my idea practical? How do you guys solve such problems?
Thanks - JJS
