I’d bet it’s got pretty stable oscillators for starters, then they added high resolution DACs and did a good calibration routine at switch on so that the oscillator tuning could follow some crazy S curve and the frequency tracking would still be perfectly linear. You just store the points required to get accurate tracking in a tuning table, and then you can interpolate between those values to get intermediate pitches. The table and interpolation can be done to whatever degree of accuracy you deem appropriate.
