Are you really sure that it changed the 1st and the 3rd issue above at all?

I'd suspect a less perfect power source could be causing the 2nd issue (not
having enough power to light up a whole row), but I wouldn't expect it to
affect the display update rate (1st) or the aging of materials (3rd).
