It is my distinguished opinion that guitar discussion forums are poor
places for advice on electronics. Way too many myths and folklore
being perpetuated on them.
Capacitor dielectrics aren't going to make much difference in the Moog
ladder filter. Moog did change dielectrics over the years (film,
polyester) with little difference in the sound.
The two significant contributors are the feedback architecture and the
fidelity/coupling of the VCA following it. Minimoog VCAs were not
high fidelity devices and they distorted the waveform.
