What a strange coincidence: reading the other thread “History of SDIY”. Today marks the 23rd birthday of this dear list: https://synth-diy.org/pipermail/synth-diy/1995-May/135981.html
First of all a big thank you to Rick Jansen for creating this list. Without Rick, of course, none of this would be here.
I’ve been on this list since december 1998, and I’ve been mostly lurking around. Through this list I learned about Electronotes, MOTM, Oakley, Haible, Fritz, Old Crow, etc, etc. I have this modular that doesn’t want to get finished, and love getting old synths back in shape. Wish I had more time… When Rick had some hosting problems in 2016 it was great to step in and offer some help. Not to mention to finally do something in return for the best mailing list I know.
Thank you all for the great info, discussions, and the extremely high S/N ratio here. Don’t forget to have a look at the list archive here: https://synth-diy.org/pipermail/synth-diy/ and search for some fun historical info!
Best regards,
Ben
