We tried the zero crossing method but it does not work if there is no
signal present.
I should mention our signal levels are +/- 10 volts. The product has 4
inputs steered to one of 2 outputs, so we need either 8 mutes to 4 mutes
and 4 DPST switches. The mutes need to be completely clickless. The
board size is quite small so large circuits are not practical. This is
why the DS1882 is attractive.
