This list has very, very low noise, so the SNR is very very high.
Compare that with online services such as has been mentioned and the
noise level shoots up (SNR plummets): adverts, futzing around with web
interfaces, likes, shares, friends-of-friends-that-you-might-know,
more adverts, futzing around with privacy settings to try to keep
yourself "safe", etc.  To say nothing of the data mining and
monetizing that goes on behind the curtain.

Now you can make jokes about "Johnson Noise" ;)
