That demo was line recorded.
Unless you mean my terrible lack of musical skills to play something 
with it which might be called "music" by more than 2 people.

IIRC it abuses serial port as PWM at not impressive frequncy, and audio 
should be filtered down to some 3kHz or so. This example used simple RC 
filter as suggested in the user manual.

And about Jan Ostman being an enigma - I got the chip really quick and 
with no problems, but OTOH I think it was the one and only thing in his 
store back then.
