 It was based on an Australian design by (I think…) Trevor Marshall, and then serialised in ETI in the UK, and sold as a BOM with case hardware and panel by Maplin. (I’m not sure Maplin ever produced a complete boxed kit.)
It’s an unusual design. The VCOs are linear, and the switched capacitor filter has a limited sweep range. 
I played with one for a while once. The sound was fine, but interfacing with anything else was always going to be a nightmare. 
Maplin used to sell a book with all the construction details and circuits. You can probably find a PDF somewhere online if you try hard.
