Because I had finally finished an analog synth few years earlier and it 
had a few limitations that would have not been considered as an obstacle 
in digital realm. My next synth project principle was about 
multiprocessing with a bunch of DSPs, because that's what I was up to 
back in the days. And I got my DX7 later than that ;)
Then I got hooked again here, so my digital synth never left the stage 
of initial draft on paper...
