[sdiy] History of SDIY?

SO, the Yusynth modular I made by etching the PCBs, sourcing all the parts,
cutting and drilling each aluminum panel, adapting panel designs in PS and
printing on adhesive labels to go over the panels, etc etc etc... That
wasn't synth DIY?
I don't get the "Modular is not SDIY argument at all, in fact I'd say the
majority of SDIY being done today is in Eurorack. Even if you get a full
kit, there's a lot of learnig, enjoyment and satisfaction in assembling,
soldering, calibrating, troubleshooting, modding etc...
