Which restricts the possible placement and often results in truly terrible
panel designs. (Arrghh! My eyes!) Thank goodness for the shallow
parallel-mount trend taking over the modular biz, letting panel design
free. The tricky bit of finding the correctly spaced components is a small
price to pay for this liberation. O:-)
PS:
Thanks for insight into the word "datum", I don't think I've encountered it
before in English. In Swedish it means "date" (the day, not the meeting and
not the fruit).
Btw "computer" is given the new word "dator", as suggested to the Swedish
Board for Computing Machinery by a computer science professor in the 1950s.
A word I increasingly appreciate, since the magic of computers isn't only
about computing things, but more and more about processing data.
