[sdiy] Oberheim OB-Xa noise generator transistor

This surely uses the Vbe back-biased to 5 or 10 volts to generate the
noise, which exceeds the rating and damages any transistor for
"normal" use, so you'll do good to throw away any transistor you try
in the circuit that you don't leave in.
