I recently forked out for the premium edition, there's some nice new features that for the most part work really well.
However I've had to downgrade back to v8 due to problems with rendering Gerbers.
Details here if you're interested: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/eagle-forum/catastrophic-gerber-output-error-in-eagle-v9/td-p/8094711
Hopefully just growing pains...

+1
I've used Eagle since the version 4 days and we get along famously. It
has quirks, sure, but you get used to them. I thing the capabilities
outweigh the issues. I was upset about the new license model but once I
saw the new features I got over it. As soon as I upgrade my workstation
I'll be going to version 9.
