Sounds like the data sheet was in error...

New maker for  the 2164? Missed this..

 So, you're saying that these are not drop-in replacements? That's a
total
 buzz-killer. Why would they reverse the output and input pins on one
VCA
 and not the others? I think they need to go back to the drawing
board.
