[sdiy] circuit to create gate to accompany cv

I've seen that also, not too long ago. It was probably some old Yamaha
but I can't be sure. Gate was one signal together with pitch CV.
Whenever CV was positive, it meant gate-on. When gate was off, CV went
negative.
And in case of step sequencer - you have that gate somewhere inside,
after all it's clocking, right? So it should be no problem finding a
clock that is 1:1 with step change.

I am trying to find a circuit that would make a gate pulse to accompany the cv of the EHX . Ideally small enough to fit in a box that could be considered "inline" and battery powered.
