No, I operate the circuit at +/-15V (and sometimes +/-12V).  It's just that
+/-18V seems to be the common standard for power supply ratings.  I just
wanted to avoid being presented with a bunch of options for +/-5V or +/-3V.
So many of the awesome SMD options seem to involve these very small power
supply ratings.  It seems that everything is a cellphone now.

Honestly, my goal for this whole bloody thread was that if somebody out
there in Synth-DIY-Land had a good alternative chip in mind, he or she would
just say "hey, Dixon, have you thought about using the BR549?"  It was not
my intention that people would actually do the research for me (although I
am grateful to those who have done so).

Just so you know, I have decided to put the one TL064 chip I have in my
possession in the board I'm selling to the bloke in Oregon, and I will order
some LF444s and hope for the best.
