I used to take SSM2018 for the job, but it's obsoleted now, probably for a long time... It wasn't super low noise anyway, but maybe I was just too picky. How more advanced design than just one specialized chip and couple of resistors? You may use parallel transistors to lower noise on input, and then feed it to opamp. Or take a look at Analog Devices application note AN-136 back from past century, should give you some clues also. As it would be used with my LOM Instruments Priezor, it would be better if it was battery powered.. I'd like to use it with my old zoom h4.. I've looked After vlf antennas preamp but i don't think it would fit, and i'm à bit lost with what i've found on Google.. Any help or schematics Will be apreciated ! Best to all J. Hope to dig in and troubleshoot more next weekend. Appreciate the guidance on where to look. If your patches don't save correctly without powering down, then it isn't the battery. More likely you have a bad IC in the multiplexing or demultiplexing system.
