Yes, it's actually much worse. The 2164 output is *only* for connection to
a virtual ground op-amp input, not for hanging a resistor towards ground
(OTA-style) and get a voltage signal at the output.

I just watched a video shot by the driver of a car at 190 km/h on Autobahn.
He also had no problem, so I have to assume it's safe! (-:
