I have used the 2144 (re-release of the 2044) in a new product. It is
very good sounding. One thing that is in the datasheet but subtle: the
frequency control pin is bipolar, something like +/- 90 mV. So if you
want to control it with a unipolar CV like 0-5V you have to offset it.
