Seems likely. Plug tolerances too.
I've noticed a huge difference between various 3.5mm jacks. The
PJ302M/Lumberg 1503_12
jacks I use in most of my own modules feel much, much tighter than
Thonkiconns (or the Cliff
jacks used by Elby/Doepfer that started this omnithread originally)
I don't know how the jacks I'm using will fare in the longer term. But many
of my Doepfer A-100
modules — all of them acquired on the used gear market — feel decidedly
well-used, and not
one of them has a dodgy jack (or a hint of any having been replaced)
