Your best bet at replicating the gear wheels probably is getting them milled
(requires fairly mundane equipment, but not a lot of shops have it) or cut
with a wire erosion machine (wire EDM). They'll probably need polishing to
run quiet enough, ball burnishing would be a good option as it also provides
some surface hardening.
