judging from what I see posted on that "big social network",

a) yes people do rearrange their setup quote often

and

b) not a single day goes by without somebody posting the backside of a
module asking which way to plug power in.

so my 2¢ is to go with the belt + suspenders + duct tape + hot glue
approach:

1) power header correctly oriented red stripe down
2) "red stripe down" clearly marked on the PCB
3) properly striped and keyed cable supplied with module

4) protection diodes

5) shrouded header

1-3 should be the norm, 4) helps both the customer and the manufacturer.
5) I know some people don't like because of "bad cables" out there, but
then do at least 1-4 consistently
