Good to see you here Laurie!
Those are good point for sure. One problem I see with the coloured jacks in
practice currently is that pretty much every manufacturer is using
Thonkiconns, which are easy to Fab into panel PCBs for skiff friendly
modules. Maybe a solution could be coloured nuts?  That would solve both
problems!
