Plenty of other panels about. My own system has a mix of

* 1.6mm and 2mm aluminium
* 1.6mm and 2mm PCB
* 1.5mm bamboo and 2.5mm bamboo
* 3mm acrylic

No aluminum though. Anyone tried that? Is it good for panels? I keep
hearing about it...

Other than 1.5mm bamboo being slightly flexible, the panel thickness has
about as much impact on system functionality as the font.
