I think RCA were the first to manufacture CMOS, so early RCA databooks
would be a good place to look.
The 1973 databook:

has a 40106 datasheet and an astable circuit. The 40106 was near the end
of the list in this book, so I don't think you'd have to look very much
further back. 1972 perhaps?
I wonder which synth was first to use CMOS?
