[sdiy] Jack Shielding

I have made something that uses a jack. One of the connections on the jack
is attached to the outside and thread. In typical applications this is
probably used as the ground. However, in my usage it is not the ground. I
end up shorting out my circuit if I attach the jack to the panel.

Is there a product that exists to shield a jack in this sort of situation?
I am currently using plastic wrap from my kitchen to shield it, but I would
like a better solution.

Changing the configuration of the jack is not an option.
