Jitter / Aliasing - it's both!
Eliminating that "feature" of digital oscillators is the primary
motivation behind the proliferation of antialiased oscillator algorithms
and the proliferation thereof. Check out all the papers on BLEP,
MinBLEP, PolyBLEP, DPW, etc.
