Great input! Indeed, the Dante protocol got my interest, and reading more
details in a recent Sound on Sound issue impressed me a lot!

Although "MIDI over Dante" sounds like a bad idea, to be honest. I'd rather
have a new standard in place of MIDI (some protocol that broadcasts more
detail about the receiver and transmitter, such as source and destination
names of devices and parameters), and then stream that in sync with Dante
(or cheaper alternative).
