Received the samples today too! I was considering to build a small voice
board from them, for reference. I'm working on plans to build a large
open-source poly synth, and already have a selection of more original
circuits and control concepts for that. Still, I love learning from old
designs and their sound character: what is it that makes them sound so
lovely when used in a specific way. I suspect the AS series will help out
there.
Best,
Rutger
ps. Totally unrelated question, although relevant for the poly project. Is
anyone aware of efforts towards new interface standards between instruments
(e.g. a new MIDI)? Having a background in AI, I always wondered why modern
networking techniques aren't used and combined as a 'multi agent system',
where each instruments broadcasts its features, such that you can set up
connections more intuitively (setting abstract MIDI channel numbers on both
transmitter and receiver seems outdated...)
