Fort tacking down mod wires I use regular hot-glue sticks with iron set
to about 200C. Not only you can solder thru, but it actually works well
as solder flux if I ever need to solder something inside a hot-glue blob.
Talking about crazy SMD prototyping, here's an example to what I did
with 3x3mm 10-leads DFN package. I used thin magnet wire to actually add
leads to it. When done, it looked like a cool little spider.
