[sdiy] Roland SH-09 slide pots?

I haven't looked at these particular slide pots, but it seems that many of them have what is basically a section of PCB under the wiper, held on by metal tabs that wrap around the base. It would be easy to order a new PCB that would fit the metal casing, so that makes me wonder whether PCB fab houses can print carbon or other resistive material on a PCB just like the other materials that go into the process.
Does anybody know? How accessible are these carbon or other resistive materials to those of us who aren't full-on manufacturers of potentiometers?
I do know that flexible circuit manufacturers can make small sections of carbon-impregnated contacts at the ends of "cables." Unfortunately, I don't think that a flexible circuit would hold up under a fader wiper. But, if they can print this material on a flex PCB, then something tells me they should be able to print it on a rigid PCB.
