Panasonic has some PPS SMD caps (series ECH-U(X)) that I've used and liked
(portable audio circuits), but if 1206 is the largest size you are looking
for, you will only get up to a max of 0.047uF, which won't get you too
far. Film caps take up SPACE! This series is also available in 0603 and
0805 with correspondingly lower max capacitances.
